Sublimation Printing
Sublimation printing for sportswear
Sublimation lets a design run edge to edge across a garment, with gradients, patterns, names and numbers printed into the fabric itself. It is how we make most of our team uniforms and printed gym wear.

How the process works
The design is printed onto transfer paper, laid against the fabric and passed through a heat press. Heat and pressure turn the ink into a gas that bonds with the polyester fibres. The printed fabric is then cut to pattern and stitched.
Because the whole panel is printed before cutting, colour can run across seams and around the body with no limit on the number of colours.
What it is good for
Team jerseys with stripes, gradients and sponsor marks; individual names and numbers across a full roster; all-over pattern leggings, sports bras and shorts; and limited-run designs where screen-printing set-up costs would not make sense.
Preparing your artwork
Vector artwork (AI, EPS, PDF or SVG) gives the sharpest result for logos and lettering. High-resolution images work for photographic prints. If you only have a rough idea, we can build the design on our garment templates for your approval.

Questions
Before you ask.
Will sublimated prints crack or peel?
Sublimation dyes the fabric itself instead of sitting on top of it, so the print does not form a layer that can crack or peel. It is the reason most modern team jerseys are sublimated.
Can every player have their own name and number?
Yes. Send a roster with names, numbers and sizes and each garment is printed individually.
Which fabrics can be sublimated?
Sublimation works on polyester and high-polyester blends, and shows best on white or light base fabrics. We will recommend a fabric for your product when we quote.
